PM Boyko Borissov: With that speed of coming out of the shadows, Bulgarian economy will catch up with the best by 2023
With that speed of coming out of the shadows, Bulgarian economy will catch up with the best by 2023, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said at the beginning of today's government meeting.
"I want to tell you the results that Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA) has reported – grey economy is decreasing. Formal “white” economy has risen to the record 79.1 points,” Borissov said, noting that the government can hardly be suspected of having close ties with BICA as the association is known for supporting the Left, "but the numbers speak for themselves”.
He further said these developments are due to several factors, such as Bulgaria’s economic and political stability, improved collection of excise duty on alcohol and cigarettes, the efforts of the National Revenue Agency. As other factors, the prime minister pointed out the positive trends in global economy and the lack of migration flows at the border of Bulgaria.
